Why was Fiat Ducato chassis voted for best chassis to use for motorhome in its class  ???

Not all manufacturers of chassis are the same - it is very important to understand this for the following reasons

Most important  factor is

INCREASED REAR TRACK

The Fiat Ducato has an increased rear track (1980 mm, category best-in-class, 190 more than the standard track) permits greater stability on the road -  and offers greater width for the living cell.

This is important - if you dont have the wider rear axle on a motorhome in this class -
then a vehicle will wander all over the road and hard to control on the road .
We have seen this happening with some other brands of chassis  - they are on the market  today -

This is why  Fiat Ducato is recognised in europe as the best selling motorhome with at least 85% of sales the Fiat chassis

You have to remember -
In the Fiat Ducato Factory  in Sevel Italy  - they are still manufacturing 1000 units per day   !!
You did read it right  - YES one thousand units per day

There is a number of customers asking us about the number of safety belts in ci motorhomes ?

We are repeatedly asked this question as we hear some motorhomes out there that are sold as a 4 berth motorhome and only have 2 safety belts  - we believe it should only be advertised as a 2 berth only  . As very misleading if advertised as a 4 berth.
This will also affect resale value

To add 1 extra safety belt can be $3500  and upwards in costing  - depending on whats required  to be modified
on the motorhome to meet regulations.

You will be pleased to know our 3  berth Kyros  Duo Prestige has 4 safety belts
And our Ci Triaca 4 berth motorhomes  have  4 Safety Belts
ALL  other models  have  5  safety  Belts  all certified

Fiat Ducato GPS  Software  Updates  -  ???
All Ci Motorhomes do Not have a  GPS  for a reason  - we have advised for years not to get the GPS  unit on your Fiat motorhome
The maps can not be upgraded  or software can not be updated for NZ  Maps

We purchase the Top of the range Fiat Stereo system  fitted in Fiat Factory  ( not standard)  with CD ,Bluetooth , touch display  ,controls on steering wheel ,(reads your emails and texts on late model phone )   this is not the standard stereo by Fiat

All customers are  advised  to read blog  when vehicle  is purchased from  New

Caring For your Eco Leather  Upholstery

It is imperative  to take  care of  your Eco Leather Upholstery in your motorhome  ,
If  you look after  your  upholstery  it  will look after  you  !!  Long  time

clean it regularly with a mild soap solution, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight and excessive heat,
and use a synthetic leather conditioner to maintain its flexibility and moisture levels
;

If you do Not look after the upholstery  - it  will deteriorate .
You should  also clean it  when it  starts to soil from dirt  or grease on clothing and  direct dirt on  skin contact  ,

It is  important  NOT   to  use cleaning chemicals on the upholstery as it  will  deteriorate  real quick .
You should only use  a  damp microfibre  cleaning  cloth with a tiny amount of  mild  sunlight  liquid.
DO NOT USE THE WRONG CLEANER OR CONDITIONER

You should  also close your roof vent shades  in summer  when vehicle is parked and not used as  otherwise the sun will damage the interior
If you do not  do this the  sun will deteriorate your interior real quick  on any motorhome  !!!

The  difference is  if  you dont  close  your blind   on your roof  vents  then the sun will come  through the roof  vents
(which acts as a magnifying glass  on furnishings and upholstery   in your motorhome  -  and  also overheat  and damage the  interior

thats  why they design roof vent blinds on motorhomes  )

TO  USE  THEM

All Leather, Eco Leather, Fabrics will not last directly in the sun -
(you will need to purchase a eco leather conditioner to condition your upholstery )
Just like a spa pool cover will generally only last  5 to 6 years -without conditioner
No more  vinyl  roofs on cars as only would  last approx  5 years

ONLY  PURCHASE  FROM  THE  OFFICIAL (BRAND)  LICENSED  MOTORHOME  DEALER  NZ

We are receiving a number of calls from customers who have purchased a motorhome privately , or of a Dealer
( who they thought were  the official recognised dealer  for that brand )  which  they found out later was  incorrect information
so now they are up against trying to obtain a part  for that brand  or getting the fault fixed  is a problem  - no parts
There are a number of parallel  import dealers who are not the  Licensed  dealer for that brand  being sold  -
so check the  brands main website to see if that dealer is the official  dealer for that brand of motorhome  - before purchasing

Be aware - A number of dealers  will not supply a part  to you , or the price could be inflated  if you have not purchased your motorhome in NZ of the official dealer. ( Ci Motorhomes NZ -  do not operate  this way )

Also check to see  how long the dealer has been in the industry  -  You dont want them here today and gone tommorow  !!
Walkabout  Motorhomes have been in buisiness for 19 years  -  still same owners from day one   !

Ci  Fiat  Motorhome blog  NZ  -  Tips

We love Fiat Ducato at Ci Motorhomes and we have a choice of brand  out of the factory  - but we only choose Fiat Ducato
Bearing in mind 85% of motorhomes in europe sold are Fiat Ducato  -this  tells you everything  !!

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE  -  VERSES  REAR WHEEL DRIVE
The Question was asked while discussing with technical team while at the Fiat Factory  (Sevel ) Italy  -  The answer was given
YOU DO NOT need a rear wheel drive when the vehicle weight is under 4500kg  ( as long as you have traction control on the fiat  ducato  )

Friendly  reminder for all our valued customers  about  Fiat Ducato   - (Comfort-Matic  Gearbox)

* Do Not left foot brake when driving - or straddle the brake and accelerator at same time when braking  -
* Do Not hold the vehicle on a hill  with the accelerator
* No Gull Diesel  in Fiat Ducato  - advised  by Fiat and Ci Motorhomes
* Servicing  is  required every 12 months or  20,000km  (which ever occurs first )   -
must be serviced at a Fiat dealer ONLY.
This is for  ( campaigns ) or software upgrades  which are frequent - very important  at a Fiat dealer for correct oils etc
* Fiat service centres can be found here-   http://www.fiat.co.nz/dealers
